Tipra-Motha formed citizens’ federation to attract non-tribals, will contest alone in maximum seats, Pradyot
In order to woo the non-tribal voters and leaders, the regional Tipra-Motha on Sunday formed a new frontal unit ‘Tipra Citizens Federation’ in participation of senior leaders from both tribal and non-tribal communities of the state.
Addressing a press conference here at Ujjayanta palace on Sunday afternoon, Tipra-Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarma accompanied by former Congress’ vice president Tapash Dey and other non-tribal leaders said that Tipra Citizens Federation is a platform for like minded people to contribute to the advancement of inclusive and progressive politics in the region . He said that people from all sections of the society, be it minorities, SCs, general, OBCs, Hindustanis, Manipuris and all others, are most welcome to join their movements for ‘Greater Tipraland’.
“We are all together, in our quest for a better tomorrow, in our fight for our constitutional rights,” said Pradyot and added that any people from any community can join their federation.
He reiterated that Tipra-Motha will not consist of them in fighting only 20 ST reserved seats, but will fight in the next assembly elections in maximum seats including in no-reserved seats of the Tripura assembly.
He said that many leaders from different communities are joining Tipra-Motha including former Pradesh Congress’s vice president Tapash Dey and many others. Pradyot added that they are moving towards changing the systems for a united fight in participation of all community members as people of all communities are being deprived in the state.
“I think a regional party can now loud their voices towards in New Delhi,” said Pradyot and added that earlier people were tried to consist them only in 20 seats, but now Motha is moving towards contest in all assembly seats of the state in participation of communities like SC, OBC and minorities in general reserved seats of the state assembly.
We will bring new faces with a mind set to contribute their best for all communities to maintain communal harmony, said Pradyot and appealed to all to participate generously to stop the politics of deprivation. He also said that ‘Tipra Citizens Federation’ is a platform for all communities, specially for deprived sections of the society to echo their voice in a greater platform.
Anyone and everyone who shies to be a changemaker and believes in the core ideology of Tipra-Motha can join their new platform, said Pradyot and added that Tripura struggles with multiple socio-economic, cultural and political issues, the federation shall strive to increase public awareness on various issues with time and facilitate a collective effort among diverse sections of the society to address them in a democratic manner.
He also said that they are not communal forces, but a united team of all communities to protect their constitutional rights. He said that leaders like Tapash Dey and Abu Qkher can represent their communities for communal harmony. He added that Motha with its all resources and power will win 31 seats easily and will contest in the upcoming assembly elections in maximum seats through its own strength. Pradyot claimed that many Bengali people are supporting their movements and giving instance, he said they demanded for Kokborok language in CBSE curriculum, not a single Bengali people oppose that Kokborok should written Roman script, but the politicians are deciding which language would be written by Tiprasha and politicians are spreading mistrust and hatred spreading in society.
He once again appealed to all to raise their voices to protect the constitutional rights and a step to abolish the politics of deprivation.
Speaking in the press meet, Tapash Dey and Abu Qkher said that they will protect the rights of all communities and will discharge their given responsibilities for the betterment of Tripura. During the press meet, the deputy CEM of ADC Animesh Debbarma and many leaders from different communities were also present.
